It’s difficult to design with communities you’re not a part of. Despite (and often because of) good intentions, good research, and even good funding, the politics and pragmatics of designing with diverse groups can be fraught. This talk will explore some perspectives on and methods of inclusive co-design, describing our experiences applying them to help create more equitable labour platforms, and speculating on what coming cooperative communities could be like.
