Workshop: defining the smart city, together

The center is closed, and the website is therefore no longer being updated.

I wouldn't be able to tell you what a smart city is, but I am sure that you have some ideas of what it is, or could be. By using visual facilitation and concept network mapping, we'll shape together our collective perception of the smart city. During this 1h30 workshop, we'll see a definition of smart city emerge and explore the implications and ramifications of the concept in our daily lives.

Sébastien Pierre is the founder of FFunction (http://ffctn.com), an interface design company that helps organizations, businesses, and governments manage information overload. For Sébastien, open access to government data is an important step towards a more open and participative democracy; where citizens become real participants in decision-making.

He is also part of Montréal Ouvert (http://montrealouvert.net/), and is part of the Human Futures EU Cultural project as artist in residence at PIT/CAVI, Aarhus University during August 2014, working on a project called LocalNet.
